Our goal is to provide quality lessons that promote swimming as a lifetime activity.
We are excited to offer NEW lesson times for the 2011 season. Our new structure will allow us to use our most qualified

Swimming lessons are available to members 3 and older. Age is determined as of membership purchase date.
A child must be tested prior to registration if he/she has never had lessons at the Hilltop Swim Club.
No refund after the first class.

Beginner lessons:

| The objective of this class is to get children that are afraid of the water to put their face in and float comfortably. |
|
The class focuses on developing the proper freestyle kick with a front float. The swimmers will need to sustain the front float and correct kick for at least 10 sec. |
|
This class focuses on 10 good freestyle armstrokes, back float, frog dives and holding breath for at least 10 sec. |
Intermediate Lessons:

Minnow: |
- Learn rhythmic breathing (does not have to be perfect until Minnow)
- Kicking on back
- Finning
- Changing direction
- Dive
- Jumping off board and swimming to ropes.

- Swim 25 yards with good rhythmic breathing
- 25 yards of backstroke
- Swim under water 15 feet
- Survival float for 2 minutes
- Tread water for 30 seconds
- Perfect dive
- Swim elementary backstroke for 25 yards
- Jump into deep-end and swim freestyle to the ropes change directions and come back on back.

Advanced Classes:

Whale: |
- Swim 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, and elementary backstroke.
- Correct armstrokes and kick for breaststroke (they do not have to coordinate properly).
- Swim side stroke for 15 yards
- Tread water for 1 minute
- Swim underwater for half of the small pool
- 5 minutes continuously around the inside of the ropes.

- Swim 100 yards of freestyle, backstroke and elementary backstroke.
- Swim 50 yards of breaststroke and sidestroke
- Tread water for 2 minutes
- Swim breaststroke with proper coordination
- Survival float 5 minutes
- Jump into deep water, swim to the middle of deep-end, tread for 2 minutes, swim to ropes, swim back to the wall
